  • Delayed takeoff in Atlanta due to severe weather.

  • Princess offers an optional service called the Ultimate Balcony Breakfast. It turned out to be a delicious 3 course meal!

  • Coast of Italy as the Grand passes through the Strait of Messina. The Strait of Messina is the narrow section of water between the eastern tip of Sicily and the southern tip of Calabria. A natural whirlpool forms there, which has been linked to the legend of Scylla and Charybdis
  • n 1957 a 220-kV overhead powerline was built across the Strait of Messina. Its pylons are among the highest of the world. This powerline has since been replaced by an underwater cable, but the pylons have protected status as historical monuments.
  • Our last night in Italy was spent in Stresa. It's a wonderful mountain resort, a boatride away from Switzerland. It's also close to the Malpensa (Milan's Airport).
