Food

So what is about England and food. We heard a number of warnings about the poor food before we left. Well, this reputation seems completely undeserved! We ate mostly pub food or at relatively inexpensive restaurants. All my meals ranged from good to very good! British meals do tend to be hearty and my waistline showed it.

  • Treacle tart with custard. Harry Potter's favorite desert (but didn't know that until after the vacation). Extra rich shortbread with a sugary glaze - yes, it is a tad sweet. :)
