Though less well known the henge at Avebury is one of the finest and largest. It is 5,000 years old and close to 1,400 feet in diameter. Note the chalk just below the topsoil.
After a delicious lunch at the George Inn, we walked around beautiful Lacock. This building has housed a public house since the 14th century.
