Maupiti

Maupiti is one of the Western-most Society Islands. It has a population of about 800 with no hotels or resorts. Accommodations must be arranged through small "bed and breakfasts". Maupiti was the highlight of our trip. In addition to being a great destination, we also had a wonderful stay at Kuriri Village. http://www.maupiti-kuriri.com/default_en.htm Highly recommended! If you are tired of the beaten path, Maupiti will surely get you off it.

  • Went to Avaavaoraa pass (false pass to the North side of the island). Though heavy surf effected visability, the number of fish was amazing.

  • Underwater photography is so frustrating. My hat's off to all those who are skilled at it. I'm not!
